The Chairman of the American Conservative Union (ACU) and the former Chairman of the Michigan Conservative Union (MCU) today endorsed Bill Schuette for Attorney General.

David Keene, the Chairman of the American Conservative Union, said, “As Chairman of the American Conservative Union, I know Bill Schuette to be a strong Ronald Reagan Republican who has consistently fought for tax cuts, reduced spending and smaller government. I've worked with Bill and can say without hesitation that he is among the most decent, hard working and principled people I know. He has proven himself a solid conservative and will make a great Attorney General.  He has my full support, and I am pleased to endorse Bill Schuette to be Michigan’s next Attorney General,”

Harry Veryser, the former Chairman of the Michigan Conservative Union, said, “I have known Bill Schuette for many years.  He has always been a terrific conservative and stalwart for traditional values.  As a Republican National Convention Alternate Delegate for Ronald Reagan in 1976 & 1980, as well as the Michigan Reagan Director for Community Groups, I appreciate the strong support Bill Schuette lent to the Reagan campaign in the general election of 1980 plus his ability to beat a sitting Democrat U.S. Congressman in 1984, which helped advance
President Reagan’s agenda in the U.S. Congress.  I fully support Bill Schuette for Attorney General at the Republican State Convention on August 28th.”

Harry Veryser is also the Former Republican Chairman for the 10th Congressional District, and is Director of Graduate Studies at the University of Detroit-Mercy.

“Michigan’s next Attorney General will have to deal with issues ranging from Obamacare to public corruption cases to Internet predators.  It’s important to keep the AG’s office in trusted, conservative hands,” Bill Schuette said.

“David and Harry are true giants in the conservative movement.  They’ve devoted years to advancing conservative causes.  I cannot thank them enough for their strong support,” Schuette concluded.
